Seamanship is a time-honored traditional skill, and by using our ready-to-seam seamanship estropes you gain access to the art of knots and splices. An essential skill for any sailor or sailing enthusiast, seamanship techniques are used for a variety of tasks such as securing sails, securing deck equipment, mooring the ship and much more.
Seam rigging on Dyneema® or Polyester braid :
1. Tie a knot in your rope at a distance of +/- 3 m.
2. Slide the rope sheath towards the knot, to reveal 150 cm of hollow braid core.
3. Insert your estrope into the hollow core as far as it will go.
4. Temporarily secure the core and estrope by wrapping a simple sticker around them at the top.
5. Then reassemble the sheath by sliding it over the core all the way to the top.
6. Then overbind or use our heatable sleeves.
